Audio not syncing up sounds more like the problem of the iso you downloaded or something up with the homebrew.

The best picture you can force from original hardware is a HDMI conversion, there is a small FPGA board that taps directly into the GPU bypassing Nintendo's AV ports, scales to 1080p with the best picture possible outside of emulation. It was said the production run of component cables was less than a thousand.

Only a select handful of games took advantage of the 480p component cable which required a button press combination on start up to access a resolution selection screen, the Cube would only run in a component state with the Nintendo only cable. Wii/Wii U cables do not work with the Gamecube for a 480p picture, they also only work with the NTSC machines as the PAL variant Digital AV port was disconnected.

I've heard this thing of GC component cables being stupid valuable too. Who the fuck is paying through the nose for a cable? Pretty sure that even though the Wii/Wii U cable will fit the GC it won't actually output component video. I have a component cable in my Wii U, which I got for my Wii and I'm fairly sure it has the same AV out as the cube (maybe even N64). Who the fuck is paying through the nose for a cable? Is it time to link that thread again already?īigOrkWaaagh wrote: reggy72 wrote: Now if you had a GC component cable then your in the big money, very limit run and only given away at Nintendo trade fairs and a few Nintendo outlets in Japan, I sold one on eBay a few years ago and achieved a quite outstanding £170 for a fucking cable. There is also available now an HDMI mod for the cube, apparently it is bloody marvellous, but requires a bit of soldering expertise. Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, I've no idea what it would fetch in SA, here circa £50/60 as long as it in good condition.(thinking boxed with all inserts for this money) The rarer GC's can demand decent money such as special editions, the NTSC/Japan modded with a region switch to NTSC/USA can fetch a bit more than your standard PAL/Euro poverty spec versions.
